Wazito United has registered the second win of the season after seeing off struggling Nakumatt at Camp Toyoyo on March 18th, 2018. Goals from Joe Waithera and Kenneth Wendo were enough to see Wazito get maximum points.
Joe Waithera put Wazito ahead in the steering wheel when he tapped in an easy ball after he was set up by Pistone Mutamba in the 11th minute of the encounter. Nakumatt was, however, outstanding in the first half and had Timmonah Wanyonyi's two headers stopped by Phillip Odhiambo. The Wazito keeper did well to deny the former Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards again when he blocked using his legs a goal-bound shot under pressure.
The second half started on a slow with Wazito cautious to venture forward while Nakumatt dictated things in the midfield. Frank Ouna made two changes to bring new and fresh legs to spike his team. David Oswe and Moses Odhiambo were brought in to replace Harun Nyakha and Moses Otieno respectively. Owiti set up Wendo Kenneth who wasted that golden chance to double the newbies chance of doubling the score. He failed to control the ball thus slipping off his legs.
Penalty Miss
Wanyonyi was the culprit again when he failed to make a successful spot conversion when Luis Tumba was adjudged to have brought down Nakumatt striker. Waithera raced into the box and set up Wendo who slid the ball between Mwendwa legs to double the last season's NSL runners-up score. Waithera almost made it three after he was teed up by Mutamba from the left flank but his final shot took a deflection with Karimi well beaten.
